Christa M. Winthers, formerly known as Christa M. Schneider, is a 2001 graduate of North Central College, Naperville, Illinois. She graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2005, and was admitted to practice in 2005. While at Valparaiso University School of Law, Christa worked at the Family Law Clinic, providing pro bono legal representation for divorce clients in Valparaiso, Indiana. As a law student, Christa also clerked for Judge Sheldon Gardner of the First Municipal District of the Circuit Court of Cook County; she also interned at the DuPage County Public Defender's Office.

Christa is currently an associate at Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella, LLC., where she practices in all areas of family law, juvenile law, domestic violence and orders of protection. Additionally, Christa does appellate work and defends parties that are the subject of Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) investigations. Christa is also a court approved Guardian ad Litem in the 18th Judicial Circuit.

Christa is a former supervisor of the DuPage County Public Defender's Office Juvenile Division where she concentrated her practice on representing juveniles on criminal matters and representing parents and children on abuse, neglect, and dependency matters.

Christa is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association. She currently sits on the Legal Aid Board; she has served as Chair of the New Lawyer's Committee and the Child Advocacy Committee; she has served as a mock trial judge and has been a member of the Program Planning Committee; she is also a participant in Judge's Night.

Christa has presented as a Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Speaker at the following:

DuPage County Bar Association Family Law Section "Juvenile Court Procedures: Basics for the Family Law Practitioner"
